Yahoo has introduced Chat room verification, which means you`ve to enter some words/digits in a box to Enter into the Chat Room. This is called Captcha
Yahoo was Facing Problems with Porn bots and Spam from so many years, now a days it became a big problem for Yahoo Chat Users and for Yahoo also! So, Yahoo has fixed the chat and Implemented this Chat Room Verification with Capctha.To help prevent spam and bots from disrupting your Yahoo! chat experience.
So, whenever youtry to enter any chat room it`ll ask you to Click on One Link, if you click on that Link it`ll open in a New window of your Browser and one Box will appear there, at the top of that Box you`ll find some Letters/Digits. you`ve to enter them Correctly, then you`ll be Able to Get in to the Chat rooms. if you want to change your room you`ve to go throught the same process again.

the system is good but its rather boring cos of verifying every time whenever changing a room. if its done like this that the genuine aka human users would verify their account once then it would be way to comfortable to chat.

I think the captcha feature is more of a pain, simply that normal yahoo chat users dont want to type this captcha code over and over to change rooms Yahoo gets most of its income from advertisements on the messenger program and I personally believe that this move will bring the number of chat users down…. dramatically I Dont wanna type this code over and over and over simply just to enjoy chatting on yahoo. perhaps we should start looking for a new chat service and give Yahoo! some competition maybe then they will lean more towards finding a more “enjoyable” method for us to enter chat rooms.

Just came into contact with this, and I have to say I find it COMPLETELY irritating. It should be once per log-in as opposed to every time you change rooms. Badly thought out and I can see a lot of users being unhappy with it. Those who bot will find ways around it anyway.

Yahoo again proves that a corporation can manage to find the worst team if they try hard enough. Not only doe this schem require yahoos bloated messenger for windows users, but it is a nightmare for Linux users. Given the fact that Yahoos own Unix client has NO support for voice or camera the only real option was thrid party software that does. Now Yahoo has blocked Linux users from chat rooms by sending them to a 999 error page when the verification link is checked.
Yahoo chat has been nothing less than crap for almost 2 years and now that they finally get of their pastry break they ban 1000′s of users with this lame bot scheme. What a farce Yahoo! Let the bots have it. It sucks the big one.

This is the best idea yahoo came out with. Bots can not log in, people can not multiple mic capture programs like STB Ect and dominate the room….very good …. i love it… now finally you can meet nice ladies… lol… not end up with bots

all ready got booters working. had 20 bots in scot room 3 last night and flooded the room.wont stop good booters just slowed us down till it was cracked.all ready working on alfa server logins

i found out that once you have verified the code you can use it over and over again. all you have to do is leave the browser open and hit the back button and refresh. so when i want to go to another room i click on that room, hit the back button, refresh and paste the code again. so it will only be a matter of time till somebody will program something to do this automatically.

imsobored is right. You can hit the back button and paste the code again and it works! However, this only seems to work for about 5 minutes. Then the code does not work. So, you can change rooms 2-3 times with the same code if you are a troll.

when you talk of bots they just need to authenticate once, join the room and then keep on sending pm’s or spam to your ID, thats whats happening the most. Yahoo needs to implement more strict rules in case of spam blocking. These are effective temporarily but they do not last for a long time as people running bots adapt to the present situation and keep pestering the chatters.

Mr. D. Billings the only thing linux users are left with is to run Wine and Yahelite for chatting on yahoo, rest yahoo messenger for linux hasn’t been updated since ages and all the 3rd party clients like zinc or others are not able to cope up with the new login crap issued by yahoo

yeah, yahelite seems to run kinda okay with wine on linux, used it a few times, except today, whenever I go to type the captcha code in it keeps saying I typed it wrong. Tried about 10 times over and it keeps saying it’s wrong. @ VIRU = zinc HAS been updated to cater for the captcha, although since it’s concole based ya need to do it through a browser.

i think yahoo has gone too far! although if i said i thought it would stay the same or get better after it went to yahoo7 id be lying…. somhow i just knew it would turn to shit, as it was the best remaining chatroom on the net… anyhoo, i wont be using it anymore, it’s just too bigger pain in the arse for me, i mean, who, or what sort of a fool would find it ok, to be fuked around like this everytime we hit a button? what next? will i have to enter a silly fukin code to turn on the lights in my god dambed house???!!?? thought it was meant to stop bots?… y is there more than ever before??? and stop em ay?, well, if you beleive that then i askk you at what cost??? im 1 and im gone, YAHOO…go fuck Yourselves!!!!!
