Yesterday McAfee announced that it was able to verify a vulnerability in the Yahoo! Messenger webcam image decoding handlers. This vulnerability can allow another user to remotely inject malicious code into Yahoo! Messenger while viewing their webcam. Because the information to exploit this vulnerability has been made public we highly recommend that users do not accept webcam invites from people you do not know. We are currently investigating this issue and hope to have the appropriate safeguards in place soon to prevent this vulnerability from being exploited.
